I felt like watching Anna and the King (the newer version of The King and I) again so I got it when I was at the library today. I have to add that movie to my profile as a favorite. I love movies that have a narration along with it as did this one. There is usually more meaning brought to the movie. I have been sparked with an interest to look further into the life of Anna Leonowens. I have placed a hold on the book and am glad that I am third in line for it so that I can finish Robinson Crusoe which I have been working on for forever it seems.

I was trying to find a website with the script for Anna and the King so that I could just copy some of the quotes I enjoyed from it but I'm finding no one has that one. And it is getting late so I will edit my post later with it when I get it.

Yesterday after school the kids and I kidnapped Matt and went to Ramseyer Farm. They have a haybale maze, potato crate maze and a couple big corn mazes. They also have a spud launcher which was pretty fun.

Today the kids dressed up at school and got candy from the local merchants. They usually go down mainstreet but it was raining so they did it in the gym. Then they had their class parties.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MATT!! yesterday we got a small cake courtesy of walmart and i also put candles on a pan of brownies. it put off some serious heat and by the time the candles were blown out it looked like i had put swirly frosting on top.

well saturday some progress was made on the building project. the guy came and put up about half of the block for the knee wall.

On Sunday we went to an annual Chili Cookout down the road. Matt always takes the opportunity to fire up his John Deere and takes us down on the trailer. As you can see we got everybody on. Adam rode up on the tractor with Matt though. And Robbie was probably the most secure and safe as he was strapped down.

Here's Laura and I dressed alike.

Yesterday, Monday, I spent the day cleaning things up and getting situated back in the house. Also, after not being able to bake all summer, I baked a cake, cookies and made a pizza.

Its been over a week since i've wrote. last week on tuesday the kids had a half day and when i know its going to be nice we like to go to the Wilderness Center. so i took Laura and Adam and the neighbors Kendra and Tallie. we had a good time.

Matt got the block and sand for the knee wall so we're ready for the guy to come do that. Wednesday through Saturday I felt awful (did you ever look at certain words and think, that's a wierd word? awful is a weird looking word. I had to look it up to make sure i spelled it right.) anyway i didn't do much of anything those days. then saturday night we packed up camp and headed to the house. we all enjoyed this summer and it was sad to see it come to an end. here is a few pictures of the weekend before when we had our last outdoor supper.

oh yeah, i was also vehicless, again, for a few days while matt ordered and put on new calipers.

for a few days last week the wind was very strong and blew all day. some bad news. when we first moved back we had got a 4Runner Diesel, two gas tanks, the rack up top, (it had been outfitted for some missionaries going to africa and apparently didn't go) we did a trade for it and were going to put a new engine in it. well, now you'll see parts of it on ebay b/c during the storm, half of a tree fell on it. bye bye 4Runner. i guess we'll save ourselves the time we would've spent fixing it up and just get more money for it than we had in it.

I'll catch you up on the rest tomorrow. i have a neat picture of everyone, including Robbie, on a hayride.

yesterday was a cold and warm day painting. youre probably wondering if i'm painting a house or a barn b/c it's taking me so long. no, its just a small office but i'm particular when it comes to edging and trimming. rolling the rest was fast. also i only got a few hours at a time to work on it sometimes. well, it done except for the door. i'll post a pic when its all done.

matt's coming back today. we better get this place back in order. jk

yesterday while I painted, my face was getting sunburned and today my fingers were numb.

I had quite a scare today when I returned from getting the kids from school. Bear came running from the main house with chicken feathers in his mouth. I thought, we're going to have some mad people and all i could hope for was that they were butchering today. thank goodness that was the case. whew, he's not a killer.

Last night the kids and I met with some of our friends we knew from Chicago. They are up from FL visiting family. It was great to see them. Thanks for making time for us Brian and Val.

Problem has been solved! Today my father-in-law and I changed the spark plug wires and the LandCruiser is back to normal. It was a good learning experience and was fun, of course b/c nothing went wrong aside from the fact that it took 3 tries before we figured out what was wrong. It's good to have my baby back.

I painted the rest of the day. Oh, I could show you a picture of the new place Bear found to get wet. I was painting while I filled up the water trough and Bear comes over soaking wet. So i walked over the the trough and he jumped back in.-

Goodnight all!

Today I did a little of everything. But let me back up to last night. In the evening Matt and I strung up some new fence line so we could move the cows to a different pasture. Not a good thing to do right before you go out of town. Only Matt was leaving. He and his brother James were heading down to TX to check out some business opportunities. In my short experience with cows, there seems to be a pattern when it comes to new fence-cows find a way out, cows get out overnight, chase cows in the morning, go to confession for things that came out of your mouth. Matt left last night and wasn't going to be there in the morning for that enlightening routine. Well Praise the Lord!! this morning they were still contained. I had to fix a few places, one being a log fell on the fence and was holding it to the ground and the cows were standing only about 10ft from that. Yikes! Along with that, I did some painting and then helped my father-in-law put a new distributor cap on the LandCruiser. Uncle Hap was there too. (For those of you who know I'm not by the distributor cap, i'm not just posing, i was checking the spark plug wires to make sure we hooked them up in proper order.)

Oh of course I had to do something techy too so I made a DVD for some friends I will see tomorrow that is up from FL! can't wait.

Matt, here's an update on your girls. They're fed and happy. they came right away when i whistled. you trained them well. Although i think they were probably laughing at me when i was whistling, it didn't really sound like yours.
